Book Spotlight- Alienation

HAPPIEST BOOK BIRTHDAY TO

ALIENATION

BY S.E. ANDERSON

Hello lovelies! I’m super excited that Alienation is finally out and everyone can read this wonderful book! Alienation is the sequel to Starstruck, so if you haven’t read that yet, well you definitely should! With incredible writing, amusing characters, and a fascinating storyline, Starstruck is definitely one of my favorite reads this year. It’s quirky, hilarious, and so much fun. Sooo when Anderson asked me to beta read for her, I obviously could not resist! Alienation is absolutely outrageous and silly and thrilling and one amazing adventure you won’t want to miss!!!

Sally Webber’s dream is coming true: Zander is back and taking her out for a night on the town–on a planet hundreds of light years away from Earth.
But when an accident separates her from her alien tour guide, she’s thrown into the seedy underbelly of an insane city where nothing is as it seems. Suddenly lost and desperate to get back home, Sally is willing to do anything to get out, even if it means accepting spontaneous marriage proposals, crashing some fancy parties, or joining what appears to be the space mob.

All she wanted was some decent interstellar pizza, but now it might be the end of the world as evil nanobots and an out of control AI try to take the universe by force, and the only one who can stop them is missing in action. Sally has no choice but to try to stop them herself–if she can stay alive that long.

After an incident with a hot-air balloon causes college-dropout Sally Webber to lose her job, she sets off to find direction in her life. Crashing into a teleporting alien, however, is not on her to-do list.

Now she’s on the run from TV-drama-loving aliens, and things are just getting started. Zander won’t stop reeling her into life-or-death situations to save her planet, as he waits for his laser-wielding sister to search the universe for him. Though Sally isn’t quite sure if he wants to save Earth from annihilation, or just quell his curiosity of all things human.

On top of this, she’s got to find lost alien emissaries, as well as a job, and stop the planet from getting incinerated in the process. But with Zander as her roommate, what could possibly go wrong?

Short Review – The plot is fast-paced, well written, and easy to read. There’s plenty of action, suspense, fun twists, and unexpected surprises that make the story exciting and addictive.  While the romance is quite subtle, there are a few moments here and there that made me swoon. And that ending… totally crazy! I don’t want to give too much away, but let me just say that Anderson, without a doubt, knows what she’s doing. She lures you in with an intriguing premise, sends you on a fabulous out of this world adventure, messes with your mind just a little (okay…. maybe a lot), and then zoom… she leaves you with so many unanswered questions you’ll be ridiculously anxious for the next installment.

S.E. Anderson can’t ever tell you where she’s from. Not because she doesn’t want to, but because it inevitably leads to a confusing conversation where she goes over where she was born (England) where she grew up (France) and where her family is from (USA) and it tends to make things very complicated.

She’s lived pretty much her entire life in the South of France, except for a brief stint where she moved to Washington DC, or the eighty years she spent as a queen of Narnia before coming back home five minutes after she had left. Currently, she goes to university in Marseille, where she’s starting her masters of Astrophysics.

When she’s not writing, or trying to science, she’s either reading, designing, crafting, or attempting to speak with various woodland creatures in an attempt to get them to do household chores for her.  She could also be gaming, or pretending she’s not watching anything on Netflix.

I also interviewed the lovely & talented S.E. Anderson and you can check that out HERE.
